Web Services Team
The web services team provides training and support to SPS staff making updates to the SPS district and school websites.
Web Editing Resources
Important note: We use a content management system (CMS) called WordPress to edit the SPS websites. WordPress developers will release a new version of WordPress periodically, and sometimes with the new version the placement of some buttons and settings changes. These changes are out of SPS control. We (the web team) try to update our instructions and training materials to match as much as possible. If you have any questions, please email webmaster@253000xa.com.
Training materials such as quick reference documents (QRDs) and videos for common web editing tasks. Note: Only staff that have completed the web editor training courses will be given access to the link below.
SPS is committed to ensuring all webpages and content are accessible and in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All website content must be accessible, including documents and images.
Q&A Sessions
The web team holds Q&A sessions for SPS staff and volunteers with web editing access on the following Thursdays at 2:30-3:30 p.m.
This is an open hour-long Microsoft Teams meeting for editors with questions about web editing, content standards, and accessibility. Feel free to pop in, ask your questions, and then leave (or stay and listen to others’ questions).

Peachjar
Peachjar is a tool currently used by Seattle Public Schools to allow community-based organizations to distribute electronic flyers to families via email and a link in the footer of the school websites. Learn more about how Seattle Public Schools is using Peachjar.
Website Content Standards
The Seattle Public Schools Website Stewardship and Standards aims to accomplish three things:
- Support the vision, goals, and values of Seattle Public Schools.
- Assist web editors in creating digital content that complies with SPS rules, standards, and legal requirements.
- Support user-centered SPS websites.
Students and Families Come First – The prioritized audiences for the public district websites (district and schools) are families and students. All content on these sites is created and maintained with their needs in mind. Staff-only resources should be published on MySPS or other staff digital platforms such as SharePoint.
